Projektbeschreibung
In this 5 year and 2.5 million Euro project segment we are developing novel and comprehensive concepts for the recording of magnetic resonance images of the brain.
In order to encode the magnetic resonance signal, we are developing nonlocal so-called PATLOC gradients, in which we are departing from cartesian coordinate systems to nonlinear yet orthogonal curvilinear coordinates, as exemplified by the spherical harmonics. Both design software and hardware is being developed.
For recording the MRI signals we are developing parallel acquisition concepts that include multi-channel phased arrays with up to 512 channels. This requires concepts for the low power pre-amplification of the acquired signals, and integration and decoupling concepts for such a large system of detector coils.
