Curriculum Vitae

Daniel Sanchez (Daniel Alejandro Sanchez Tapia) was born in Tepic, Mexico, in 1983. From August 2002 to June 2006, he studied Electronic Engineering in Guadalajara at the Western Institute of Science and Technology (ITESO) where he specialized in Control Systems.

From June 2006 to August 2009, he worked as a Hardware Development Engineer in the Research and Development group at Continental Automotive, Guadalajara, Mexico, with activities related to design, validation and introduction to manufacturing, of instrument systems for passenger cars.

In 2009, Mr. Sanchez was awarded with a CONACYT-DAAD fellowship. In October 2011, he received his M. Sc. degree in Microsystems Engineering from the University of Freiburg, Germany. He wrote his Master Thesis "Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Techniques: Case of Single Excitation" at Corporate Technology, Siemens AG, Munich, Germany.

Since March 2012, he has been with the Fritz Huettinger Chair of Microelectronics, Department of Microsystems Engineering – IMTEK, University of Freiburg, where he is currently working towards his Ph.D. degree. His research interests are efficient interface circuits for energy harvesting devices with special focus on integrated circuit design and power management for wireless and self-sustaining autonomous sensor systems.
