The online pre-course covers the fundamentals of metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS) technology, i.e.,

MOS transistor
I/V characteristics
second-order effects (channel-length modulation & body effect)
passive devices (resistors & capacitors)
interconnects & contacts

Audience & Educational Objective

Participation is highly recommended to any students, who did not participate in the lecture Integrierte Schaltungen; a lecture which was related to various bachelor programs of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Freiburg up to 2018. Students, who already participated in Integrierte Schaltungen, may use the opportunity to review the content of chapter 2 "Bauelemente der Mikroelektronik" and to familiarize themselves with the technical terms.

At the end of the online pre-course, the participants will have the right knowledge on the fundamentals of MOS technology, which is required for a successful participation in the course Mikroelektonik / Microelectronics.
