Dr. Sabrina Kartmann
Scientific staff, GL Autonomous Fluidic Systems
Vita
Sabrina Kartmann studied Microsystems Engineering (B.Sc., M.Sc.) at the University of Freiburg with a focus on Biomedical Engineering and Sensor and Actuators. From 04/2012 to 07/2013 she worked as a research assistant at the Laboratory for MEMS Applications in the research group "Non-Contact Microdosage" of Dr. Peter Koltay. During this time, her focus was on writing proposals and obtaining a research grant for the subsequent dissertation. During her PhD thesis (07/2013 to 12/2017), she worked on a loop-controlled dispensing system based on an electromagnetic dispensing valve and a novel low-cost flow sensor. In 2018, Sabrina Kartmann joined Hahn-Schickard, first leading the Autonomous Fluidic Systems Group and since 2021 the Laboratory Automation Division. Her current research interests include the development of new flow sensor technologies, volumetric measurement methods and non-contact dispensing technologies, as well as custom laboratory automation based on liquid handling workstations or autonomous embedded systems for the nano- to microliter range. Sabrina Kartmann is a member of the standards committee "Volumenmessgeräte" of the German Institute for Standardization e. V. (DIN) and nominated expert for the working group ISO/TC 48/WG 5 Liquid Handling Devices- Automatic.
