Dr. Carolin Klose

Head of Electrochemical Energy Systems - Fundamentals

VitaCarolin Klose 2021

Carolin Klose studied physics at the University of Konstanz and the Michigan State University in East Lansing, USA. She completed her master's degree at the University of Konstanz with a master's thesis on electron-phonon interaction in metals.
She began her PhD in September 2015 in the Porous Media Group of Dr. Simon Thiele at the Laboratory for MEMS Applications of Prof. Roland Zengerle. Since January 2018 Dr. Severin Vierrath and Dr. Matthias Breitwieser are leading the group and the group name changed to "Electrochemical Energy Systems". In February 2020 she completed her doctoral thesis on “Novel polymer electrolyte membrane compositions for electrolysis and fuel cell systems”. Since then she continued working on further improving performance and life-time of hydrocarbon proton-exchange and anion-exchange membrane fuel cells and electrolyzers.
