VitaSabrina Kartmann, 2019

Sabrina Kartmann studied Microsystems Engineering (B.Sc., M.Sc.) at the University of Freiburg with the concentrations Biomedical Engineering and Sensors and Actuators. From 04/2012 till 07/2013, she worked as research assistant at the Laboratory for MEMS Application in the “Non-contact microdosage”-group of Dr. Peter Koltay. During this time, her focus was on writing funding proposals and acquisition of a research grant for the subsequent PhD thesis. During her PhD at the Laboratory for MEMS Applications (08/2013 to 12/2017) she was working on a loop-controlled dispensing system based on a disposable solenoid valve and a novel capacitive flow sensor.
In 2018, Sabrina Kartmann joined Hahn-Schickard and is heading the Autonomous Fluidic Systems Group. Her current research focuses include the development of new sensor technologies, volumetric measurement technologies and non-contact dispensing technologies, as well as laboratory automation based on liquid handling workstations or autonomous embedded systems for the (sub-)microliter range. Sabrina Kartmann is a member of the standards committee " Volumenmessgerate " of the German Institute for Standardization (Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V.). (DIN) and nominated expert for the working group ISO/TC 48/WG 5 Liquid Handling Devices- Automatic.
