Julian Hafner studied Microsystems Engineering at IMTEK. He was enrolled in the M. Sc. program until 2015.

During his Bachelor program  (2009-2012) he was working as a student assistant at the Laboratory for Process Technology, IMTEK.

There his focus was on image processing and optical 3D surface measurements with a coordinate measurement machine.

In the beginning of June 2014 he started working on Vertical Hall Sensors produced in standard CMOS by Micronas Freiburg. His main focus was on the modeling of offset- and sensitivity-behaviour of novel Vertical Hall Sensors. Therefore he developed an numerical and mathematical model of these devices and verified it by measurements.

Currently he is working on telemetric microsystems e.g. Smart Brackets. Therefore he developed a copper based fabrication process for planar microcoils, also he is responsible for the assembly
of these coils with the available stress sensor chips. Further he is developing the electronics for the reader unit in order to drive the telemetric system at the optimum especially concerning the read range.
